I firmly believe that no matter where you are in your life, the best years are ahead of you. People face transitional periods throughout their lifetimes. It might be a starting a new job, improving your performance in your current position, or maybe finding a new career. All of these life events can benefit from having a coach.
One major life event is retirement, and sooner or later, most of us find ourselves there. Whether you are planning for it or are already retired, there’s a lot to be done in order to have a successful, meaningful retirement. And planning for retirement is so much more than finances—it’s about planning what you’re going to do with the rest of your life.
No matter where you are, I am here to be your partner in helping you:
- Define your vision for your future
- Unlock your potential
- Create balance in your life
- Bolster your efforts and boost your confidence
- Brainstorm strategies
- Inspire you to live your best life
Having me as your advocate and resource can help you move forward with energy and confidence.
Retirement Coaching
The more personal side of retirement planning, retirement coaching combines social science and research to help you plan beyond the dollars and cents. We will explore and create plans for the mental, social, physical, and spiritual aspects of life in retirement.
I will help you see your retirement for what it can be by taking you through a written, proven process to help:
- Replace your work identity
- Allocate your time and resources
- Stay relevant and connected
- Be mentally and physically active
Together, we will use time-tested techniques, exercises, workbooks, and quizzes. You will learn that you don’t need to figure everything out on your own, and you certainly don’t need to learn the hard way.
As human beings, we are not meant to do nothing. We are meant to be connected with others and to have meaning and purpose in our lives. That’s not always easy. And that’s where I step in as your retirement coach.
Why Hire a Coach?
Coaching is proven to work when there are just two factors present:
- You, as the client, are willing to grow; and
- There is a gap between where you are now and where you want to be.
With a coach, you will make smarter decisions and take better actions because you set the goals you really want. And finding out what you really want is one of our tasks.
In addition, when working with a coach, you will reach for more and not be consumed in the process. That’s because you have a partner whom you can trust—you can reach big because you can afford to. That’s what I am to you.
Also, while you’re in a coaching program, your focus will be much clearer. My clients are smart—but they aren’t always focused!
Who Should Hire a Coach?
One of my clients recently said, “Isn’t it true that when the student is ready the teacher arrives?” I love that, because it’s true! I like to coach people who are willing to put in the work of being coached and expect to get results—I want to have an impact!
The ideal coaching client for me is someone who thinks, “I want more than what I currently have,” but are stuck in some part of the process.
- You aren’t sure what the “more” might be.
- You know what the “more” is, but you aren’t sure how to get there.
- You’re there, but it’s not what you expected—now what?
- You have found yourself in an unexpected or unplanned place, and you don’t know what to do.
